Adult Carers - The Macmillan Carers’ Project

There are currently more than 6.4 million carers in the UK. According to a recent report1 by Macmillan Cancer Support, approximately 1.1 million or one in every six carers cares for someone who has been diagnosed with cancer.

The aim of the Macmillan Carer Support team is to address this need and to ensure that carers of people with cancer or any other long-term life limiting condition in Mid Essex are emotionally and practically supported throughout their carers’ journey.

Carers could refer themselves to this service by contacting the Macmillan Carers Project directly or they could be referred by a health professional. In order to make this service more accessible to carers, this project conducts drop-in sessions at the following venues and times:

Broomfield Hospital: Every Friday 9am-4pm opposite M&S
